Begin early in the morning and drive to Janki Chatti, which is the base point for the trek to Yamunotri. The drive takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Start your trek from Janki Chatti to Yamunotri temple, which is around 5-6 km. You can choose to trek or hire a pony or palanquin for the journey. Visit the Yamunotri temple and take a dip in the holy hot water spring, Surya Kund, before offering your prayers. After darshan, return to Janki Chatti and then drive back to Barkot.
Depart from Barkot and start your journey back to either Dehradun or Haridwar. Reach your destination by evening and conclude your Yamunotri Yatra.
